Competition this Week!
 
Thanks for a good rehearsal on Saturday. We accomplished a lot yet we still have lots to do with the show before we compete on Saturday.

Attendance is crucial this week so please plan on being at all rehearsals.
 
This weekend, we compete at the 33rd Golden State Field Classic Tournament at Glen A. Wilson HS in Hacienda Heights.

Please join us at Bradford Stadium for our annual PYLUSD Band Pageant.

We will be performing with all of our District Middle and High School Band Programs.

It is always a great night of pageantry!
 
Ticket Information
General Admission: $5

All proceeds from tickets sold through our program benefit the El Dorado Marching Band.
 
Please send in cash or checks written to “El Dorado Band Boosters” with your child this week or you can Venmo your payment to “@ElDorado-BandBoosters”, and Mama O will distribute tickets upon receiving payment.

Our District Drumline rehearsal is this week on Thursday, Oct. 27th from 5p-7p at Bradford Stadium.

You will be responsible for your own transportation to and from rehearsal as well as your equipment.

Please plan accordingly.
 
If you do not attend this rehearsal, you will not perform with the District Drumline at Band Pageant.

Our competition season continues this Saturday at Wilson HS.

A more detailed itinerary will be shared mid-week. We will plan on rehearsing in the morning, then have a small break before we report back to depart on buses to the tournament.We hope that many of you will join us to see our 2022 Fall Show “Haven”!
 
Performances begin at 4:30p with the 1A Class. I recommend that El Dorado spectators arrive no later than 6pm.There is a dinner break in the schedule from 5:45p-6:30p so that would be a great time to arrive, get your tickets, and find a good spot to sit!

El Dorado Band and Color Guard have the honor of hosting the Snack Bar this year. Since it is on a rotation with the other PYLUSD high schools, we will not have to manage the Snack Bar again for another 4 years.
 
Thank you very much to everyone who has already signed up. We look awesome for the first shift.

Thank you to the 2 who signed up to work the 2nd shift. We do need more than just 2 to make the event a success.

Please reach out to Cheri Hoisington by email or text if you want to volunteer, but have a specific portion of the event you do not want to miss. 
 
 If you have not volunteered before, this is a great way to meet other parents, and the best part is that ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TOWARDS OUR PROGRAM!

Valencia Field Tournament Recap
 
Saturday’s tournament at Valencia HS was certainly one to remember! With rain on and off, and then REALLY on again, we were faced with many challenges and obstacles. However, I felt that we took everything in stride and focused on the things that were in our control, and ended up having a great night!  We, as a staff, are very proud of our students for overcoming the elements and putting on a great show. It wasn’t technically perfect, but it was perfect for that moment!

Band Pageant URGENTLY Needs Your Help Great News!!!

We just learned it’s our turn to run the snack bar at this year’s event, Nov. 2nd.

We will need lots of volunteers.

Savers Clothing Drive Collection: The Color Guard team is currently collecting soft goods donations for their annual Savers clothing drive.  As you clean out your closets this fall please consider donating to the Color Guard team, all the funds collected go towards the 2023 Winter Guard season. Senior Night and Placentia Parade
 
Thank you all for a great Senior Night Home Game and an awesome showing at the Placentia Parade.  I know it was a lot of work to put both events on, but it looked like everyone was having a great time!

We received many compliments on our performance and the atmosphere we created.

Valencia Classic Field TournamentSaturday, October 15, 2022

Join us this weekend as we compete in our first Field Tournament of the year at Bradford Stadium.

This event is hosted by Valencia High School. This will be a great opportunity to showcase everything we have been working on, and get feedback from a panel of adjudicators. 
 
We will not be taking buses to Bradford Stadium. All students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the tournament.
 
A detailed itinerary will be sent out mid-week.

Bradford Stadium Parking Lot on MondaysReminder to all parents dropping off or picking kids up at Bradford stadium on Mondays,PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE GATES LEADING TO THE BASKETBALL COURTS BEHIND THE BLEACHERS.

These gates must be kept clear for the trailer to be able to come and leave from this area.
 
Also, if you are not part of the Men in Black, Staff or a member of the Band or Color Guard, please stay out of the area where the trailers are unloading and loading. We have a lot of equipment moving around quickly and we do not want anyone to get hurt. Tom Judd

Therefore, I have had to archive each class, empty out the roster, and reset the class code for all to rejoin. To accommodate our huge Booster Organization, I have split you up by last name!

Middle School Night Success
 
We had a great time at the Middle School Night Football Game!

Thank you to all of our performers for welcoming our guests and being inspiring to them. Plus, we had a great “first performance” of the field show at halftime. I received many compliments throughout the evening and over the weekend.
 
This week is the official start of our Performance Season with another Home Game and the Placentia Parade.

Join us for our “Senior Night” Half-time show this Friday Night at Bradford Stadium.

We will recognize all of our Seniors in the pre-show announcements and celebrate them throughout the night!

All Senior Parents are invited to join us in the band room before we leave for the game for our annual Senior Ceremony.
 
Due to the capacity limitations in the Band Room, we ask that only parents of Seniors attend the Senior Ceremony at the school.
 
We will send out the link for tickets via Band App.

Placentia Parade
 
This weekend is the Placentia Parade.

We will be participating in the SCSBOA Band Review on Palm Ave, then leading off the Heritage Parade on Kraemer Blvd.

This is always a great event for our school and community.

We hope that you can join us on the street!

El Dorado every year has been asked to help provide parents to assist in parking the busses that transports all of the bands that participate in the Placentia Heritage Parade.

Bradford Stadium Parking Lot on MondaysReminder to all parents dropping off or picking kids up at Bradford stadium on Mondays,PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE GATES LEADING TO THE BASKETBALL COURTS BEHIND THE BLEACHERS.

These gates must be kept clear for the trailer to be able to come and leave from this area.
 
Also, if you are not part of the Men in Black, Staff or a member of the Band or Color Guard, please stay out of the area where the trailers are unloading and loading. We have a lot of equipment moving around quickly and we do not want anyone to get hurt. Tom Judd

Senior Night and Placentia Parade
 
Thank you all for a great Senior Night Home Game and an awesome showing at the Placentia Parade.  I know it was a lot of work to put both events on, but it looked like everyone was having a great time!

We received many compliments on our performance and the atmosphere we created.

Valencia Classic Field TournamentSaturday, October 15, 2022
Bradford Stadium
 
Join us this weekend as we compete in our first Field Tournament of the year at Bradford Stadium.

This event is hosted by Valencia High School. This will be a great opportunity to showcase everything we have been working on, and get feedback from a panel of adjudicators. 
 
We will not be taking buses to Bradford Stadium. All students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the tournament.
 
A detailed itinerary will be sent out mid-week. 

Here are some preliminary details.
 
Call Time at EDHS: 7:45a
Morning Block Rehearsal: 8:00a-noon
Load Trailers: 12:30p
If you are not loading trailers, you are dismissed at this time.
 Take this time to rest, relax, and hydrate!

Band Pageant Great News!!!

We just learned it’s our turn to run the snack bar at this year’s event, Nov. 2nd.

Savers Clothing Drive Collection: The Color Guard team is currently collecting soft goods donations for their annual Savers clothing drive.  As you clean out your closets this fall please consider donating to the Color Guard team, all the funds collected go towards the 2023 Winter Guard season.
